Security Information

APKs are distributed from GuardWatch for pilot and production communities. Prefer a signed rollout managed by your admin during onboarding. For how we talk about privacy and access without fabricating certifications, see the Trust Center.

Permissions explained

  • Camera — required for QR scanning on the Guard Scan app.
  • Storage / files — may be needed to open the downloaded APK on some devices.
  • Location — used only when your community enables features that depend on it (for example attendance rules).
  • Notifications — optional alerts for visit activity when enabled for your role.

Troubleshooting

  • Install blocked

    Allow installs from your browser, then reopen the APK. Avoid third-party “APK mirror” sites.

  • Cannot sign in

    Confirm your community is live and your admin created your user. Wrong community credentials will fail by design.

  • Camera will not open

    Grant camera permission in Android settings for Guard Scan, then retry a scan.

  • Wrong app for your role

    Residents should not use Guard Scan for day-to-day invites; guards should not use the community APK for gate verification.

Which APK should residents install?

Residents and household users install the community GuardWatch APK (guardwatch.apk). Security personnel who scan visitor passes at the gate use the Guard Scan APK (guardwatch-scan.apk).

Android says the install is blocked. What do I do?

On many Android devices you must allow installs from your browser or file manager once. Open Settings → security / install unknown apps → enable for that source, then open the APK again. Your community admin can share a short install guide during onboarding.

Is the iOS app available on the App Store?

iOS is currently in development. Android is available for pilots today — book a demo to discuss iOS timing for your community.

Do I need an account before downloading?

You can download the APK anytime. Signing in requires credentials from your community admin after your society or building is set up on GuardWatch.

What permissions does the guard scan app need?

Camera access is required to scan visitor QR codes. Location may be used for attendance or site rules your admin enables. We explain each permission during setup — nothing is requested without a product reason.

Who do I contact if login fails after install?

Start with your community admin (they issue roles and unit access). For platform issues during a pilot, use Contact or WhatsApp Sales for hands-on help.
