For Karachi housing societies & apartments

Visitor and Gate Management for Karachi Housing Societies

Karachi's gates are busy. Rider deliveries come in all day, drivers and domestic staff rotate shifts, and guests turn up unannounced in the evening. In most societies, a guard writes it all into a paper register. GuardWatch replaces that register with QR visitor passes created by residents, guard scanning at the gate, and a searchable digital log your committee can actually use.

Start with a 30-day free pilot for one society. Nothing is charged during the pilot.

Built for how Karachi societies actually run

Karachi has very different kinds of residential gates. There are bungalow phases in areas like DHA and Clifton, large gated townships like Bahria Town Karachi off the Superhighway, and dense apartment blocks in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, PECHS and Scheme 33. One gate might handle a few dozen cars an hour. Another might be a single lobby desk in a high-rise with hundreds of flats.

GuardWatch works the same way at either kind of gate:

  • Bungalow and plot societies: residents pre-create passes for guests and drivers, so the guard isn't calling the house for every car.
  • Apartment complexes: passes are tied to a unit, so the lobby guard can confirm the host flat in seconds instead of ringing the intercom.
  • Multi-gate townships: every gate's guard app writes to the same log, so management sees all entries in one place.

(Areas are named only to describe the kinds of communities in Karachi. GuardWatch doesn't claim them as customers.)

How a visit works

  1. 1

    Resident creates a pass

in the GuardWatch Resident app for a guest, delivery or service visit.

  2. 2

The guest gets a unique QR

on their phone, usually shared over WhatsApp.

  3. 3

    The guard scans it

with the GuardWatch Guard app, or types the code manually if the screen is cracked or dim.

  4. 4

    The host unit is confirmed

and the resident is notified of the scan.

  5. 5

    The entry is logged permanently

Committees can filter it by date, unit or guest.

Domestic staff and regular helpers

Karachi households depend on maids, cooks, drivers and other regular helpers. With the GuardWatch Helper app, each helper has their own entry QR that only works during their permitted daily hours. Guards stop relying on memory ("he comes every day") and work from a clear permit status instead.

Guard shifts and accountability

Guards record shift Time IN and Time OUT in the Guard app, and each scan is tied to the guard who made it. Society management and the security contractor see the same record, which settles arguments about who was on duty when an incident happened.

What the committee gets

The GuardWatch Admin app lets the society office manage users, guards and units, and view a live guest activity feed and helper activity feed. Questions like "who entered for House 42 last Thursday?" take seconds to answer, not an afternoon with the register.

Devices and connectivity

Residents use their existing Android phones (iOS is in development). Guards usually use an existing Android phone at the gate. Scanning needs a data connection to verify and log entries, so plan for a mobile data backup for when the gate Wi-Fi or power drops.
